The Need For Groups
Throughout history humans have survived and thrived because of our ability to form strong groups. Groups allow us to connect, collaborate, and share. What was once a face to face experience, groups have gone online. Groups are one of the foundations of the social media experience and web 2.0. Dentistry, which is seen by many as a cottage industry, dominated by independent practitioners, is now benefiting from the formation of online groups. Dental associations and organizations, traditionally spread out by geography and restricted by time, are migrating online and using the power of the social networking technology provided by NewDocs to from groups and enhance connection, collaboration, and sharing between members. These associations and organizations are bridging the geographical divide and using time to their advantage.
This week we’d like to give a NewDocs welcome to the Idaho State Dental Association. The ISDA has taken the step to join other state associations in forming their own private and secure group on NewDocs. The ISDA is now able to use the powerful communication tools within their NewDocs group, which are unavailable on public social networks like Facebook, as a benefit to their members. Welcome Idaho!
Do you belong to an association or organization? Can your dental association benefit by using the tools of a professional social network? Let us know. NewDocs makes it easy and we are here to assist in the transition.
We all benefit by belonging to groups. Whether personal or professional, belonging to a group offers the opportunity to enhance your life. After all, humans have been forming and joining groups since the beginning of time! I think it’s worked out pretty well.
